In addition to his daily duties at Morgan Stanley, Beinkampen is the co-author of a leading white paper on Distressed Investing entitled: Understanding Distressed Investing: A Practical Approach to Fund Investing.  On the front page of the report is a very memorable quote from the authors:  “Distressed investing is interesting to us because of one simple factor: in times of crisis, incumbent managers, investors and other agents and fiduciaries may not behave in an economically rational way.”

During his time with us, Beinkampen will explain further what is meant by such a comment.  He will walk the audience through some of the major points discussed in his white paper, as well as share his sentiment on the current marketplace.  Topics will include but may not be limited to:

  • A discussion around the two distinct segments of the distressed private equity market—Core and Cyclical
