Michael Baresich
EVP, Chief Information Officer
CIT Group Inc.
Michael Baresich is Executive Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer of CIT Group Inc. (NYSE: CIT), a leading global commercial and consumer finance company.
Baresich is responsible globally for all information technology at CIT including strategy, architecture, application development, infrastructure and risk management.
Prior to CIT, he served as Managing Director and Global Chief Information Officer for Citigroup Asset Management. Before Citigroup, he was co-founder and CEO of CoKinetic Systems Corporation where he developed and patented software products for major clients in the financial services, consulting and airline industries.
Prior to this, Baresich was Global Head of Operations and Technology for Deutsche Asset Management. He joined Deutsche when it acquired Bankers Trust in 1999, where he spent over 15 years in a number of key business and technology management positions.
Baresich received his BA from Binghamton University, an MA from the University of Florida and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of CoKinetic Systems Corporation

Alan Chow
Chief Technology Officer
NCR Corporation
Alan Chow is chief technology officer for NCR Corporation's financial self-service, retail store automation and customer services divisions. In this position, he is responsible for research and development and leading a cross-business unit product management team for NCR's broader self-service business.
Previously, Chow was vice president of NCR's Payment Solutions organization that provides imaged-based services, such as check-image processing, to the finance and retail industries. Previously, Chow led the research and development organization of Teradata.
Chow began his technology career in 1975 as a programmer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center. He joined Teradata Corporation in 1981 before it was acquired by NCR in 1992. He worked as one of the original Teradata database software engineers that pioneered the development of the data warehouse industry.
After completing the development of the original Teradata system, Chow was named to positions of increasing responsibility, including Teradata's vice president of research and development.
Chow received a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a master's degree in computer science from UCLA. He also holds a master of business administration degree from Pepperdine University.

Dr. Miles P. Drake
Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Miles P. Drake was appointed senior vice president, research and development and chief technology officer September 8, 2006. He will oversee a research department devoted to growing the core businesses, supporting Weyerhaeuser’s customers and creating new technical-based options for growth for the corporation.
Prior to joining Weyerhaeuser, Drake was with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., where he had served as vice president, research and development and chief technology officer since 2001.
Drake joined APCI in 1986 as a European technology manager based in London and held numerous other leadership positions. In 2004–2005 he served as chairman of the Industrial Research Institute, an organization of 200 global companies focused on enhancing the effectiveness of technological innovation.
Drake holds a Ph.D. from Bristol University School of Surface Chemistry and a BA in Natural Science from Cambridge University UK.
He currently serves as a board member of the Board of Chemical Science & Technology of The National Academies.

Jeffrey Nick
Senior Vice President and CTO

Jeff Nick is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at EMC Corporation, where he has a major role in the direction of EMC 's technology strategy and in the evolution and advancement of EMC's information lifecycle management capabilities, related platforms, software, and services. With 2006 revenues of $11.2 billion and more than 31,000 employees, EMC is the world's leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions that enable organizations of all sizes to transform the way they compete and create value from their information.
Reporting directly to Mark Lewis, EMC Executive Vice President, Chief Development Officer, Nick leads EMC's Office of Technology, which is responsible for defining the company's evolving technology vision and technology strategy, as well as working with the industry on standards. He works directly with EMC customers and leading technologists within EMC's platforms, software, and services organizations to develop future product directions. His team also evaluates emerging information management trends and plays a major role in setting technical direction for EMC's M&A activities. He is based at corporate headquarters in Hopkinton , Massachusetts.
Nick joined EMC in September 2004 from IBM, where he held the distinguished title of IBM Fellow, the highest technical honor that IBM bestows on its IT innovators. During his 24-year career with IBM, Nick filed more than 80 inventions and holds more than 50 U.S. patents in computer systems technology. Most recently, he was Vice President, Architecture and Design, eBusiness On Demand, responsible for the design and architecture of IBM's On Demand initiative. He also led IBM's Grid Computing strategy, responsible for the definition and evolution of IBM's Open Grid Services Architecture. Nick began his IBM career as a software engineer focusing on the System 390 MVS operating system, and he eventually became the lead architect for the S/390 z-series platform and eServer initiative. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marist College with a B.S. in finance.

Dr. Peter Pao
Former Chief Technology Officer
Raytheon Company
Dr. Peter S. Pao recently retired from Raytheon. Prior to his retirement he was a corporate vice president and the chief technology officer at Raytheon Company. He leads the effort to formulate a technology strategy that drives growth and optimizes the $1.2-billion technology investment.
Dr. Pao believes that technology is important, but the transformations of technology into innovative customer solutions are what create value and generate growth. At Raytheon, internally, he focused on knowledge management and technology networking. This focus integrated the seven Raytheon businesses together, and encouraged free flow of knowledge and information. Externally, Dr. Pao built technology strategic alliances with other companies and universities to further expand the technology base. He emphasized the linkage between technology and businesses, and made product and technology roadmaps an integral part of the business strategy.
Dr. Pao was a member of the board of directors for HRL Laboratories LLC, a renowned research institution jointly owned by Raytheon, General Motors and Boeing. He was also a member of the board of directors for ThinKom Solutions, Inc., a startup company specializing in antenna technology.
Dr. Pao joined Hughes Aircraft Company in 1979. The company was acquired by Raytheon in 1998. During his 26-year career in the electronics and aerospace industry, Dr. Pao managed both major functional and line organizations with profit and loss responsibilities. He was the Engineering vice president of Raytheon Electronic Systems, an $8-billion concern; he was the general manager of the highly successful and profitable F-15 radar programs; and he also spent a year in Raytheon Commercial Ventures, where he learned about venture capital, fundraising and startup businesses.
Prior to joining Hughes, Dr. Pao was an assistant professor of mathematics at the University of Georgia. He was also a member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton from 1977–1978.
Dr. Pao was born in China and immigrated to the United States in 1969. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Fu-Jen University in Taiwan and his PhD in mathematics at the University of Michigan in 1975.

Paul Prince
Director, Core Architecture & Technologies

Paul Prince joined Dell in 2004 as a Director in the Office of the CTO. His current role involves leading Dell’s Client and Server Architecture teams and the core technologies associated with those platforms. He manages the executive and technical interface to some of Dell’s top vendors, and is deeply engaged in developing strategies for how technologies intersect the Dell product roadmap. Paul has been in the computer industry for almost twenty years, including a significant period with Intel Corporation where he was responsible for server platform architecture. His expertise lies in system architecture, including both hardware and hardware-software interfaces.

Barry West

Barry West is chief technology officer and president of 4G mobile broadband for Sprint Nextel. He previously served as executive vice president and chief technology officer for Nextel Communications Inc.
Mr. West joined Nextel in 1996 and is the chief architect in creating the iDEN wireless technology platform with partner Motorola. Prior to joining Nextel, Mr. West led many successful engineering and marketing initiatives during more than 35 years for British Telecom including overseeing the rollout of a GSM digital cellular network that covered more than 90 percent of the United Kingdom population in only nine months. Mr. West also served as director of value-added services and corporate marketing at Cellnet, the pioneer of cellular communications in the United Kingdom.
