Thomas Caleel

Joseph Einhorn
Chief Technology Officer
Inform

At age 16, while a junior at the Bronx High School of Science, Joseph Einhorn answered an ad seeking a college graduate and became the first employee and initial technologist of Capital IQ, a finance data and software company. Einhorn led a team in designing and building the technology that would successfully transform the way entire financial services industry receives and processes information. Capital IQ’s client base grew to more than 1,000 companies, including the market leaders in investment banking, investment management, and private equity, as well as some of the world's largest corporations. Capital IQ was acquired by McGraw-Hill/Standard & Poor’s for $225 million in September 2004.

As Capital IQ changed hands, Einhorn co-founded a new company with Neal Goldman, Capital IQ’s founder. Inform Technologies was established with the innovative idea that online news could be aggregated, augmented and made accessible via methodology similar to the way Capital IQ transforms an overwhelming amount of unstructured financial data into useful information.

Einhorn’s vision for transforming the online news reading experience predates the current consensus among media industry leaders that the Internet is fast becoming the primary vehicle for news delivery. Inform is currently in discussion with many of the world’s top media companies regarding implementation of Inform's technology into their Web sites.

Keynote Interview With:
Vito Schnabel
Curator

Vito Schnabel curated his first art show in 2003. He was 16 years old. It sounds young but he has been surrounded by art his whole life (He's the son of artist Julian Schnabel). Vito's first show included eight artists from the age of 21 to 60, from his sister Lola to Jorge Galindo, artists from New York, California, Italy, and Spain presenting a broad and yet very precise view of the possibilities of contemporary art. The show offered a wide array of talent; from the chopped up surfboard art of world-champion surfer Herbie Fletcher to twenty years of the hand touched photographs of Italian artist Luigi Ontani. The exhibition gave art audiences a lot to chew on. Last year’s effort, a retrospect exhibition 1968- 2005 of the veteran but forgotten about genius Ron Gorchov's paintings resulted in resurgence of interest in his work after 20 years, with articles in publications like The New York Times, Art Forum, Art in America, Interview Magazine, The New Yorker, Timeout, and created a discussion that resulted in Mr. Gorchov's (who is presently seventy six) upcoming exhibition at PS1 MOMA (the Museum of Modern Art extension in Long Island City). Artists featured in Vito's shows have work that's been exhibited in The Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, New Museum of Contemporary Art, Reina Sofia in Madrid and numerous other museums and galleries around the world, with works in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. He also shows young artists who are in no permanent collections of any museums, but will be.

Vito Schnabel has independently presented the work of eleven artists resulting in a nice modest living for a nineteen year old art dealer and the artists around him. He has done this in an innovative way without a gallery. He has found temporary spaces that have suited the work and the purpose of each show, renovating and installing exhibitions that are well advertised and well attended, on a grand scale. A moveable feast.
